The welcome day was amazing; I met a lot of new CS employees, fellow interns and the HR team. I learned the history of CS, the goals and mission of CS, which really helped me to get started with my internship.  During the first weeks, I was introduced to eLearning courses about banking, Credit Risk Management, Money Laundering and also learned the Code of Conduct for the bank.

I improved on my oral and written communication skills; I learned now how to write a professional and polite email and how to make a professional and polite phone call. I improved on my computer skills, especially with regards to excel and access. Working in a team helped me recognize, the importance of team work for the benefit of the department as a whole. I also nurtured my organizational skills through this internship.

My highlights have been all the days I worked with Björn Metzner. All the tasks he gave me were challenging and I learned so much, especially when I helped improve the existing reporting tools in collaboration with the credit risk reporter and the preparations of the Economic Risk Capital and the Inherent Credit Risk Reports.

This experience was extremely insightful and a great learning curve for me. I had the opportunity to work with different teams, which gave me an amazing overview on how the department functions as a whole. It was a refreshingly true reflection of what the day to day activities within a workplace consisted of.

With my host family I had since day one, someone to integrate with and so never felt out of place. They made me feel like I belonged and it felt like I knew them my whole life. They introduced me to so many people and took me to various wonderful places, places I never imagined I would ever visit. They have been supportive, caring and they did always lend a helping hand when I needed them.
