Working at Büchi

It has been a great journey working at Büchi. I learned so much from everyone in my team. Through Büchi I managed to be proactive in my tasks and got to be self-sufficient. By the end of this internship, I am positive that I will return to Namibia with the knowledge and experience that I acquired here and put that into good use within the food and biotech industries.

My Swiss host family

I was fortunate enough to be sent to a nice, welcoming family. Not once did I feel the sense of not belonging. I am very grateful I got to learn about how people with different cultural believes live.

Highlights and challenges in Switzerland

The highlights have to be the amount of industrial exposure (laboratory wise) and experience that I gained, the different places that I got to visit and being exposed to a whole new different culture. And of course the several trainings that the company allowed me to partake and the application notes that I got to write up were the highlights. Apart from work I would also say I was able to travel around Switzerland and its neighboring countries. Lowlights would be the short amount of time and communication in certain areas of Switzerland.

My future plans

My plans are to further my studies whilst working. I do not want to waste all that I gained from this internship, thus I would dedicate myself to find a career that will use what I acquired and maybe in the future I can start up my own application chemistry and research lab.

Personal message

I would like to thank B360 education partnerships for granting us this opportunity. Through this internship I got to experience so many amazing things. I am very grateful and I know this opportunity has opened so many doors for me back in Namibia.
