VIRTUAL INTERNSHIPS
University graduates from Southern Africa are given the opportunity to complete a virtual internship at a Swiss company.
PROGRAM VIRTUAL INTERNSHIPS
We offer university graduates with great potential from Southern Africa the opportunity to complete a virtual, 3-month internship with a Swiss company or organization.
In a carefully structured program, the interns take on daily tasks and small projects for the partner company. They take part in a Career Starter Week and IT training courses organized by B360. During the internship, they are also involved in a cultural exchange program with Swiss experts.
The focus of the program is on promoting professional and social skills relevant to the world of work. Participants are also given insight into the world of work and Swiss culture.
The program was developed by B360 education partnerships in collaboration with experts in Switzerland and Namibia, with our partner university NUST (Namibia University of Science and Technology) and with the support of the STAUB KAISER FOUNDATION. The program is currently being carried out in cooperation with the University of Lusaka in Zambia.
If possible, the interns can complete a physical internship at a B360 partner company in their home country after their virtual work placement.
TIME FRAME
The virtual internships ideally last 12 weeks. The exact timing is determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the needs of the partner companies. The internships currently start on September 1st.
AREAS
So far, the following fields of study have proven to be successful: communication, journalism, IT and economics. In principle, however, all fields of study are possible. The partner company offering the internship suggests the field of study for its intern.
INTERN PROFILE
The interns are mostly Bachelor graduates without practical work experience. Their level is comparable to Bachelor students at a university of applied sciences in Europe. The students speak English.
WORKPLACE
Students work from their home country in Southern Africa. They are provided with a workspace at the university. B360 and the university equip the students with internet, laptops and headphones.
So far, the program has been offered in Namibia and Zambia.
VIRTUAL EMPLOYER
The internship company specifies the intern's field of study and what the job description should look like. Dedicated mentors, a good introduction, project work, clear goals and performance targets are important factors in our Virtual Internship program.
COSTS
All costs are currently borne by the STAUB KAISER FOUNDATION.
