Students from Africa do a 3-month internship in Switzerland and live with host families.
PROGRAM NORTHBOUND
In the northbound program, we enable talented students from partner universities a three-month internship in Switzerland: partner companies offer internships and host families provide a home.
During their internships, the students learn practical work skills, are integrated into the day-to-day work of a Swiss company and thus gain important professional experience. They also gain insight into procedures, processes and working methods and learn how to behave as an employee. Values such as punctuality and precise work are instilled. The internships enable international exchange and the creation of a network. The work experience usually opens doors for graduates in their home countries that would remain closed without this experience.
TIME FRAME
The internships last three months, usually from February to April or from September to November. The exact duration of the internship is agreed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the needs of the company and in line with the students' curricula.
AREAS
The students come from different fields of study.
INTERN PROFILE
Usually, interns are third-year Bachelor's students or Master's students without working experience. The interns have a good command of English, but do not speak German or French.
ACCOMODATION
The Interns are accommodated with host families, if possible close to the place of work or with good connections to public transport.
COSTS
Ideally, in addition to the internship salary, the company will also cover the costs of flights and visas. A three-month internship costs CHF 12,000-13,000 depending on the salary.
Housing costs, health insurance etc. are paid by the interns. This cost sharing can be adjusted individually.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR HOSTFAMILIES
To make our interns feel at home during their stay in Switzerland, we are looking for host families, primarily in the greater Aarau, Bern, Fribourg, St. Gallen, Zurich, Zug and Liechtenstein areas. The internships last three months and usually take place between February and November.
The students are usually between 20-26 years old and are among the best in their field of study at our partner universities.
B360 interns are under contract with our partner companies for the duration of the internship and receive a salary. From this, they pay a monthly contribution to the host family for board and lodging and pay for their own transportation, insurance and all other personal expenses.
