Job Search Support Program
It is very challenging for graduates in Southern Africa to take their first step into the world of work. During their studies, they receive little to no preparation for the very challenging job search.
In addition to the successful and established Career Starter Weeks, the "Job Search Support Program" has been in place since 2023.
Aims of the JSS
The JSS supports participants of the Career Starter Weeks who performed very well. The aim of the program is to support young people in the extremely difficult job search. This is achieved in particular through:
Mentoring by an experienced coach, personal support (1:1 support)
Ensuring internet access (monthly data packages) to search for job advertisements, apply digitally and to ensure reachability
Support with the preparation of application documents
Support with preparation and training for job interviews
Financial support for photocopies, certifications and transportation to job interviews
The JSS runs for six months. During this time, the students and their mentors are in contact at least once a week.
Comments to the JSS
Richard !Khabeb, Mentee 2023:
I am immensely grateful for the Job Search Support Program. It provided invaluable guidance and support during a crucial phase of my career journey. The mentorship, resources, and encouragement propelled me towards achieving my professional goals and helped me address my shortcomings effectively. I highly recommend this program to anyone navigating the job market or looking to improve themselves in their areas of development.
Francis Emvula, Mentee 2023:
The program gave me a guiding star that kept my hope alive. Through what I was taught, I was able to secure a full-time job within a week or two after we started. I learned a lot and I really appreciate the opportunity.
Immanuel Aushona, Mentee 2023:
Navigating job hunting waters can be overwhelming, but the Job Search Support Program ensures you're never alone in your quest.
Zbynek Dvorak, Mentor 2024:
My mentee demonstrated a remarkable motivation, determination and eagerness to learn right from the moment we started our mentorship journey. It was an honor for me to guide and support him in drafting the CV, cover letter, practice possible interview questions, provide useful tips and guide him through nuances of the job search and interview process. I have no doubt he will achieve great things in his career.
Charles Antille, Mentor 2024:
B360 education partnerships has given me an opportunity to coach and support a young person in a different, far-away country. It was fun and useful for both my mentee and myself. During this time I could always count on the professional and friendly support of the B360-teams which made the hours invested even more efficient.
Become a mentor
We are always looking for mentors who are willing to support and coach young graduates virtually. The time commitment is around four to six hours per month.
