Career Starter Week (CSW)
Cooperation with university staff
The welcome meeting was very short, due to the fact that this emergency first aid course took place for the fourth time at NUST, and course materials, time schedule and assessment are routine. Only a few adjustments had to be done.
Cooperation with students
The 4 classes I had showed highly interested students, some recognized me from last year. The NUST idea to concern all students of the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences for emergency first response brought the expected results. The intense participation, discussions -sometimes emotionally tinted- about real life emergency situations, and the practical training and exercises gave added value to the students. Remains the problem of the certificate NUST that has to manage.
Impact and win-win
I think everybody realizes how important First Aid Courses are. Next I would like to learn the NUST-Staff (especially EMC) how to teach their own First Aid courses at NUST. That could be my challenge for the near future, in terms of sustainability.
Personal message
It was again a good assignment. Bringing knowledge that can be used in real life is of great value and satisfaction.
