Working Life
Working in Switzerland has been an enriching and fulfilling experience. The workplace environment specifically at Cosanum AG is highly professional, emphasizing precision, collaboration, and efficiency. I’ve had the opportunity to work on projects that challenged my skills while providing room for growth. The team’s (Happy cosaMembers) support and openness have made it easy to integrate, and I’ve gained valuable insights into Swiss work culture, including punctuality and attention to detail. Overall, my time at work has been both productive and inspiring.
My Swiss Host Family
Living with a Swiss host family has been one of the most memorable aspects of my experience. I lived with Markus & Jasmine as well as Loco, a beautiful couple that welcomed me with open arms and treated me as part of their family mostly like their own son. Sharing meals together and learning about Swiss traditions, such as fondue nights and Raclette or celebrating local festivals, gave me a deeper understanding of the culture. Their warmth and willingness to share their way of life made adapting to a new country much easier, creating a home away from home for me.
Highlights and Challenges in Switzerland
Switzerland is a country of breathtaking landscapes, and I’ve cherished exploring its natural beauty, from the snow-capped Alps, Matterhorn. Learning to ski and hiking through picturesque trails were definite highlights. However, adjusting to a different language and navigating cultural nuances was initially challenging. The high cost of living also required some budgeting skills. Despite these challenges, the overall experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I’ve grown personally and professionally.
My Future Plans
My time in Switzerland has broadened my horizons and inspired me to aim higher. I plan to leverage the skills and experiences I’ve gained here in my future career, focusing on cross-cultural collaboration and innovative projects. This experience has also sparked an interest in me to further my studies till I get doctorate in Procurement and supply chain and to start my Logistical company which will reduce the rate of unemployment in Namibia and equip Namibia’s youth with relevant skills in the same area.
Lastly my personal message to anyone considering an experience in Switzerland, I wholeheartedly encourage you to take the leap. The challenges you might face will only enrich your journey, and the highlights will leave you with unforgettable memories. To my Swiss colleagues, host family, and entire B360 Team, thank you for making this journey extraordinary. You’ve shown me the value of kindness, precision, and embracing diversity. This chapter of my life will always hold a special place in my heart.
