The cooperation with the university staff was excellent. Everyone welcomed us with an open heart and tried their best to keep us informed about participant number prior to the lecture and the class. It was very nice to know that we had the support of the university whenever we needed something.
The students’ engagement was huge, they were very eager to learn, ready to experiment, try new things out, and very active during conversations and in reflections. It was really nice since they gave us the feeling that they genuinely appreciated having the possibility to take part in the lecture and we have also witnessed some visible personal transformations.
The southward program of B360 creates a win-win situation for both the students and the B360 experts. At the end of the course, the students had learned a lot about coaching and mentoring and were visibly more comfortable to have coaching and mentoring conversations. This of course was our goal and was very nice to see.
The highlights of our assignment were seeing the students’ development, hearing their discoveries in the reflection rounds, especially after their out of classroom assignment and seeing them present about their learnings and already applying so much of what we had shared with them. Besides this, the great openness and warm welcome by everyone and everywhere was wonderful. And we learned a lot about the South African economic situation, especially about the micro businesses, which was very interesting. Moreover, we had the possibility to discover the South African culture first hand since we worked closely with the the students. The Assignment at TSiBA from May 13-18th was a valuable experience for us.
