Cooperation with university staff

I had no contact with other lecturers at TSIBA in Cape Town. But the cooperation with the management there was characterised by great cordiality, helpfulness, commitment, professionalism, humour and reliability. It was a pleasure!

Collaboration with students

After teaching Bachelor students in Namibia the year before, I had great respect for the postgraduate students at TSIBA, who were waiting for me. Apart from having a well-packed educational backpack, they all had a lot of life and work experience and most had their own consulting company. The oldest participant was 64 years old! What else can you teach these people that they wouldn’t already know? And yet: although the students were critical, challenging, questioning – they were at the same time interested, motivated, grateful and they had a wonderful mind. The class got involved with every model, every theory and every exercise (which sometimes provided lots of fun and hearty laughter).

Impact and win-win

The fact that the exchange had an incredibly great effect and was a win-win situation for everyone involved is undoubtedly evident from what has already been said, so that no further comment is necessary.

Memorable event

The assignment was not only a memorable event, and I will not only keep the excellent cooperation in good memory. No, above all I will never forget the TSIBA people with their big hearts and impressive spirits.

Expectancies

I didn't actually have any expectations before travelling to South Africa. But I had ideas and I had prepared myself that one thing or the other would not work as I would like it to. However,  I was taught some differently, and I was surprised how much better everything worked than I had imagined.

I feel at the same time pleased and honoured to have met these great people in Cape Town I am infinitely grateful for this unique and fantastic experience I have had!
