Update February 2025
A successful start to 2025
We are delighted to give you our first update in 2025. Our programs are all up and running or in the planning stage – one of them is currently even setting a record.
Northbound
On Saturday, February 1st, our interns from Namibia and Zambia landed in Zurich. A total of 11 students will be completing an internship in Switzerland and Liechtenstein over the next three months – that's a record!
The internships at our partner companies – Bank Julius Baer, Büchi Labortechnik, Mediaschneider, LGT Bank and Hivoduct – started on the Monday following their arrival.
On February 15, all eleven interns visited our office in Zug. After various workshops and intensive discussions with each other and the B360 team, they enjoyed lunch together and a visit of the old town of Zug. As our interns live and work all over Switzerland and Liechtenstein, they do not meet often. So, the day together was a highlight for everyone.
We wish all our interns an educational and exciting time in Switzerland and Liechtenstein with lots of wonderful experiences!
Virtual Internships
Our five virtual interns completed the virtual part of their internships at the end of November and gave exciting insights into their internships at Bob Finance, Scenario X, Robotist and B360 in their final presentation. They are currently completing a physical internship in Zambia – we are very pleased that Liquid Telecom, MTN and Zicta are supporting our hybrid internship program.
We are very delighted that one of our original six virtual interns received a job offer from PWC Zambia back in October. As this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, he ended his B360 internship and took up the offered position.
And there is more great news: The five virtual interns performed so well that they won the Special Award! Among other things, this award means that they will be able to go on a two-week trip to Switzerland in June/July. A big thank you to the Staub Kaiser Foundation, who is funding the program and the award.
COMPANIES WANTED FOR VIRTUAL INTERNSHIPS
For our Virtual Internship Program, we are looking for companies who would like to support an intern virtually for 12 weeks. We would be delighted to hear from you by e-mail or phone +41 77 477 99 63.
You can find more information about the program on our website.
Outlook
Our other programs are also running:
As part of our Southbound Program, eight experts will be traveling to Windhoek, Namibia, in February and March to teach at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) and Bank Windhoek. Traditionally, assignments at NUST take place at the Department of Health and Applied Sciences, in the areas of Food Safety, Clinical Health Sciences and Occupational Safety. In addition, two more of the coveted Career Starter Weeks will take place in collaboration with Bank Windhoek.
On March 6, 2025, the B360 networking event will take place at the NUST Hotel School in Windhoek for the fifth time. Alumni, lecturers, local professionals and B360 experts are invited to the event to exchange ideas and establish and maintain relationships. It is great to see how the B360 concept is appreciated.
We look forward to sharing news and updates from B360 with you again soon and look forward to an exciting 2025.
Best regards,
Sabina Balmer and the B360 team
