Update March 2022

B360's "Virtual Internships" are entering their second round!

After the successful completion of the 2021 pilot project, it was with great pleasure - and in the presence of our President Sabina Balmer- that we started the second round on February 28. Four students from our partner university Namibia University of Science and Technology NUST have qualified for the virtual internship and now have the opportunity to support their internship company in the daily business and in a research project.

The four students with Sabina Balmer from left to right: Queen Peter, studies Communications (B360); Era Nehale, studied Environmental Health and Safety (ELSA Mifroma);, Letisia Petrus, studies Communications (Swiss-African Business Circle), Sophie Atshipara studied Environmental Health and Safety (ELSA Mifroma).

ELSA Mifroma is a new partner company of B360 and offered two internships at once. The Swiss-African Business Circle (SABC) has already been on board since 2021 and B360 is also taking on an intern in 2022.

At the joint lunch, the panel was joined by long-time NUST coordinator Nico Smit and Southbound experts Corinne Gantenbein and Rudolf Schmitt. These also took the virtual interns on a trip to the coast where one of the sand dunes served as a platform for team building!

Southbound program cautiously started again

We cautiously restarted the Southbound program with three B360 experts in the Health Sciences Department at NUST. Given the many COVID challenges, we decided to send only experienced experts to departments with which we have a long history of collaboration: Stephanie Baumgartner taught 4th year undergraduate nutrition students; Corinne Gantenbein (advisory board member) and Rudolf Schmitt (board member) worked with 2nd and 4th year students in the Environmental Health Sciences course.

The South-South program is thriving

On March 2, after a long two Corona years, we were able to hold the 2nd networking event and meeting with the B360 Intern Alumni. More than 50 alumni, NUST lecturers and business representatives attended this year's networking event in Windhoek.

Here are a few impressions:
