At Work
I had the privilege of working as a Data Analyst intern at bob Finance, where I gained hands-on experience with real-world data. I developed technical skills in Python, including proficiency in pandas and matplotlib for data analysis and visualization. The role also enhanced my communication skills through regular presentations and report writing. This internship was an invaluable learning experience, allowing me to apply theoretical knowledge and build confidence as a data analyst. I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to applying these skills in future roles.
My Mentors, Coach and Colleagues
During my internship at bob Finance, I had the privilege of working with experienced mentors, including Mr. Björn Scheiwiller and Mr. Olaf Haase, whose guidance in data analysis and best practices significantly contributed to my professional growth. My coach, Reto von Arx, provided continuous support, regularly checking my progress and motivating me to push my limits. His leadership emphasized the importance of patience and clear communication. The collaborative environment in the office allowed me to learn from my colleagues' diverse expertise. Overall, the mentorship and teamwork I received played a key role in my successful internship experience and laid a solid foundation for my future career.
Highlights and Lowlights
My biggest highlight would be learning the Python programming language, during my internship I enhanced my Python skills by working on real-world datasets, focusing on data visualization and analysis, as well as finishing the project in due time. I also formed meaningful friendships with my colleagues, learning from their expertise and building a strong professional network within the office.
A potential lowlight might have been the initial learning curve in adapting to real-world datasets and mastering Python for practical applications. However, overcoming this challenge ultimately contributed to my growth.
My Future Plans
In the future, I plan to further my studies in project management, building on my understanding of effective planning and execution gained during my internship. Additionally, I have developed a keen interest in data science, inspired by my hands-on experience analyzing and visualizing data. I aim to deepen my expertise in these fields and integrate them to drive impactful results in my career.
Personal Message
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to B360 education partnerships for providing this invaluable internship opportunity and to the University of Lusaka for their continuous support throughout this journey. A heartfelt thank you to my mentors and coach for their guidance, patience and encouragement, which have been instrumental in my growth. Lastly, I am grateful to my colleagues for their collaboration and friendship, which made this experience both enriching and enjoyable. This opportunity has truly been a stepping stone toward my personal and professional development.
